Prepare flat root face just above gingival level.

Enlarge the counterbore cavity for laboratory wax-up of a
burn-out post Insert Keeper.
Use an impression technique to prepare a laboratory model.
The surface element of the Insert Keeper is left exposed
above the wax-up for retention in the casting investment.
Use precious metal alloy with casting temperature of
± 800°C.
Remove surface oxide deposit with rubber polishing wheel.
Avoid damage to the surface finish.

Adjust the post length so
that the keeper fully
contacts the root face.
Cast Post Copings with Insert Keeper
Use a suitable restorative material e.g. Composite/
ionomer to seal exposed root dentine and the outer
conditioned surface of the keeper.
